The first guest we invited to Platinum 2024 is an italian entrepreneur who is known as the founder of Hi!Founders, a community for startuppers, investors and professionals in the italian entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Born in Lucca in 1992, Nicola Mei attended liceo scientifico before graduating in Electrical Engineering at Pisa’s University, finally getting a master in Energy Engineering. As he wrote his dissertation, however, he soon realises that this path didn’t fit with his true passion. Before Covid, Nicola designs a blockchain platform to manage live events tickets, in an effort to solve the scalping problem raging over the industry.
The project had to pivot substantially and even with great efforts spent, it finally will come to an end due to missing the expected KPIs.
But through this experience, Nicola discovers his real passion: the startup and innovation world, which he puts at the core of his career from then on. Enthralled with innovation, today he is co-founder and CEO at Hi!Founders, a community that helps young talents and plans events dedicated to startups and innovation throughout Italy.
Among his successes, the organisation of the Italian Startup Network event, connecting entrepreneurs and professionals, strengthening the italian startup landscape. Nicola Mei is also a proficuous content creator on LinkedIn, where he shares experiences and advice on the entreprenurial ecosystem, read by 12.000 followers.
